Knowing God
God’s Plan—Peace and Life God wants to have a relationship
with you and so He has given us His Word, the Holy Bible, to tell us more about
who God is, and what He feels and thinks about us. John 3:16 states “For God so
loved the world that he gave His only Son so that everyone who believes in Him
may not die but have eternal life.”
Humanity’s Problem—Separation God is Holy, but man is not. Romans 3:23 states
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. Romans 6:23 says, “For
the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ
Jesus our Lord.” We die because we have sinned (done wrong). But it is God’s
hope that we do not stay separated from Him.
God’s Remedy—The Cross As mentioned before, God sent his Son to die on the cross
in our place. Because we sin, we deserve death, but Jesus, who is Holy, died on
the cross as payment for all sins. This gift is from God, it is free to us, we
cannot work our way to eternal life. Jesus said, in John 14:6, “I am the way,
the truth, and the life, no one goes to the Father except by me”. This states
that the only way to get to our Father God in heaven is by accepting the work
Jesus did for you on the cross.
Our Response—Receive Jesus Christ John 1:12, “To all who received him (Jesus
Christ), to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children
of God”. This is the deciding point: Will you trust God enough to accept what He
says in His word? God loves you with a perfect and complete love. What God is
asking of you is to accept His gift of eternal life, by accepting Jesus Christ
as Lord and Savior.
Pray—Talk to God God is ready right now to hear from you. Talk to Him from
your heart. “God, I know I am a sinner, I have done wrong. Today I ask you to
forgive me for all the wrong things I have ever done in the past, I repent and
turn from my sins. I believe what the Bible says, that Jesus Christ died for my
sins, rose from the grave and is alive. I open the door of my heart and life and
receive Jesus Christ as my Savior. I want to follow Him as Lord of my life.
