The Coyote Open Den is an opportunity for parents and teens new to the Coyote Teen group. A handout will be provided, and the Coyote Advisors will be available to explain more about this dynamic homeschool teen group, answer all your questions, and explain how teens can get involved.  Don't let another high school year go by without providing your teen with an opportunity to be a part of this group.

Schedule:

Coyote Orientation for parents & teens new to the group:  6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

Bring your parent(s) and meet the Coyote Advisors.  Receive our Coyote handout packed full of information about the Coyote Teen Group, how it's managed, and how you can get involved.  Coyote Advisors will be available to answer all your questions.  Parents:  Please let us know if you plan to attend so that we can have enough handouts.  Thank you!

Prom, Yearbook & Newsletter Committees:  7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Coyote Advisors will be interviewing teens for committee positions.  Those who are interested in serving the Coyote Teen Group this year are encouraged to complete our online application prior to September 5th.  For more information about our committees, visit our online coyote handbook!

Homeschooling Through High School to College & Life:
Barbara Dragon, NHN Officer and "just retired" K-12 homeschool mom of three boys, will help guide you through the high school years.  Adapting resources from Mary Schofield, Cathy Duffy and her own experience, Barb will help you create an educational plan for you high school student.  By utilizing dual-credits from the community college to build a high school transcript your high school graduate can enter a four-year college or university as a sophomore at least.  Your student not college bound?  Come learn how to finish the high school years with a transcript tailored to your student's area of interest/skill or vocation.  She'll encourage you in your ability to keep homeschooling to the end and be GLAD you did!  Lots of hints and help for you and your student to succeed. Guaranteed must "Go-To" to if you already have a high schooler, or your student is currently in middle school.  Never to early to begin preparing.

Question and Answer time will follow:  2:30 to 3:00 (or more if needed)

The seminar will discuss some of the current and future trends in technology and sustainability.  An emphasis will be on imminent and future technology regarding energy, transportation, nanotechnology, and the sustainability “green” movement.  I will try to provide educational and career opportunities that the youth may have in these fields.  I will also discuss some of the potential Christian opportunities that these technology trends may provide.
